What is Dark Circle?

Dark circles are mainly the dark spots developed under the lower eyelids very common in men and women.dark circles are formed due to heredity, ageing, mental or physical stress, hormonal changes, nutritional deficiencies and lack of sleep.

What are the causes of dark circles?

There are a variety of causative factors for dark circles. Some common causes include

1.Lack of sleep

Insomnia can be one of the main causes of dark circles under the eye. Your body is capable of repairing the skin, as well as all other tissues, only when you are in a state of deep sleep. It is only at this stage of sleep where the blood circulation can focus on your skin's tissues and cells to give your face a more refined look.
Not getting enough sleep increases the stress on the body's systems. When pressure increases the body's steroidal compounds reduce the spread of the skin, returning it to the muscles and major organs. This lazy spread and the formation of weak blood can make the eye circles more visible.

2.Ageing

Smoking Cigarettes block blood flow, cause excessive light appearance on the skin and accentuate dark under-eye circles. Cigarettes contain a number of additional chemical additives that affect the body and other filtration chemicals. 
Cigarette smokers were also found to be five times more likely than non-smokers who reported feeling unwell after sleeping at night. Smokers spend less time in deep sleep and more time in less sleep than nonsmokers. Investigators have suggested that this may be due to the effects of nicotine withdrawal during sleep.

6.Genetics

Genetics are one of the major causes of black circles. If your parents have dark circles you are more willing to be with them and no matter what treatment you take or how often you sleep.

7. Iron Deficiency

Iron deficiency can result as a cause of dark circles. There is a good chance that you will have dark circles and puffiness in your eyes if you do not eat nutritious food. The colour change you are experiencing can be caused by a lack of iron-like minerals. The veins located near your eye area are most noticeable whenever you lack iron in your system. Study found that anaemia was a basic health cause in about 50% of the dark under-eye circles in the study participants. Vegetable growers will be at risk of anaemia because animal feed sources are iron sources.


How can one remove dark circles?


1.Get more sleep. Sleep deprivation can also help to reduce the appearance of dark circles. Inadequate sleep can make your skin look pale, making dark circles appear. Allow a seven- to eight-hour break to prevent dark circles from appearing.

2.Apply cold pressure. Cold pressure can help reduce inflammation and narrow open blood vessels. This can reduce the appearance of puffiness and help eliminate dark circles. Wrap a few ice cubes in a clean, dry cloth and rub your eyes. You can also dilute the bath towel with cold water and apply it to the skin under your eyes for 20 minutes for the same effect. Repeat this process if the fabric gets hot or the ice melts.

3.Reduce or eliminate alcohol and tobacco use.

4.Eat healthy foods that include foods rich in antioxidant foods.

5. Reduce dark circles under the eyes using skincare that contains high levels of antioxidants from plants. Studies show that herbal remedies with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant actions can improve the appearance of dark circles.

6.Manage medical conditions that may contribute to the dark under-eye circles.

7.Take quality supplements if your body is low in certain nutrients such as iron, or provide circulating chemicals such as grape seed proanthocyanidins.
